The Barefoot Nation
In life appearances and the way someone sees the world are the only things that change. In fact, it is the same world, the same creatures, the same tricks, the same violence and greed, but in new models. Some of these aspects are beautiful, others are ugly. Man is looking for good and agreeable life, equality, justice, and peace. A nation within nation is death itself; if the rulers are leaders of the first nation, be sure that the second nation members are slaves of the first no matter how the ruler very honest is.
The perfect example is the case of a nation in North Africa. Imazighen and Arabs are two races living together, but one can discover that there are two nations within one nation. The first one is Amazigh nation, the natives, and the second one Arabic nation, the invaders. The rulers are from the Arab race; therefore, the natives are slavers.
The majority of Imazighen are living in bad even worst conditions. In fact, the areas which are populated by this race are neglected and deprived. The majorities of Imazighen are poor, illiterate, and suffer from illnesses and malnutrition.
When many races invaded North Africa, the natives did not benefit from previous experiences and the civilizations of those invaders. The Phoenicians occupied this region, the natives fought them, but traitors sold their land. After that, the fighters kicked the Phoenicians out. Then, Roman colonized North Africa. Imazighen helped them to own the Sahara trade roads. They did not profit from the Roman civilization which was in its peak at that time. Arabs were the new invaders; they brought new ideas, lifestyles, new religion, and other useful things. But it was the wealth of this region that brought this race. Finally, the Imperialists, French and Spain, were the new colonists who killed women, children, and elders so as to oblige the fighters to give up. Also Imazighen kicked French and Spanish troops out of their land. Then traitors got out from windows and entered from doors.
This nation is still looking for the hidden sun among darkness skies. In fact, those people did not get anything from those colonists' civilizations. In contrary, the colonists were interested in the wealth and Sahara crossroads. The worst of all is that when the last colonizer kicked out, they left North Africa to traitors who were taught by colonizer. Now the natives are looking for their rights such as justice, equality, the right to be humans. For example, some people from south-east of Morocco were boycotted the election of 2007 for one reason or another. Firstly, they want their language to be the official language in parallel to Arabic. Secondly, those people refuse some governmental policies such Arabization .Thirdly, they want to be citizens. Finally, they want to enjoy their lives like other citizens. Those areas and others do not have just simple things such as schools, hospitals with high technological equipments, roads, electricity and drinkable water. Here is an example to prove what I have just said:
“We hear some politicians talk about justice and equality, but we do not see anything in reality. In fact, we, Berbers as some people call us, are not welcomed in our land, and none cares about us. We do not enjoy our rights, so we are animals in eyes of some people....” An old man says.
From this speech someone can discover how those people suffer. One of the most problems of those people is that they are very kind, patient and hospitable. These very good manners of those people are their weakest points.
To conclude, Amazigh is the only race which suffers from many phenomena. Some if not the majority of Imazighen are living in bad conditions; lack of simple infrastructures such as hospitals, schools, shortage of clean water, electricity and so on. These services are not something which is impossible to invest in. Also, those people fall in trap of ignorance, illiteracy, let alone deprivation. Those people are asking for their rights a citizens, they do not ask their government to invade the space.
